Casey’s General Store Hits a “Grand Slam” Through the 2019 “Round Up” Campaign

When asked how their store increased funds raised by such a high percentage, Winsted Casey’s store manager, Kristi Jorgenson said, “Our cashiers set goals and we use a flip board at the registers to show customers what our goal is for the day or the week. Our pizza kitchen delivery order takers also ask customers if they’d like to round up. We simply ask! I also remind my team that we have customers who know someone who is treated at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. We want to be #1 in Minnesota and we are working hard to rank nationally!”

And that’s just what they did! Casey’s General Store in Winsted, MN was the #1 fundraising location in Minnesota and northern Iowa, raising $4,260 for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s beneficiary hospital in this market. This was a 40% increase over 2018. More impressive, this Casey’s location ranked 14th in the nation for their Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising. To celebrate Winsted Casey’s achievement, Gillette Development Officer Sara Berkbigler dropped off a cake for staff to enjoy.

Also, congratulations to the Browerville, MN Casey’s location for once again ranking 2nd in the Gillette market, raising $2,733 through the Round Up campaign. Browerville has a population of 755 people and the Browerville Casey’s team is proud of their achievement and their community. Rightly so!

Overall, the Minnesota and northern Iowa Casey’s locations hit a Grand Slam by raising $109,825 in February for Gillette. This is a 166% increase.  Becky Holst, Development Officer at Gillette expressed, “Our sincere congratulations to all for this outstanding achievement and increase.  You are helping kids right from your area when you support the mission of Gillette.  Thank you for “Asking!”
